Ajyad Capital Taps Ratings Intelligence and Velexa to Scale Digital Shariah-Compliant Investing
Bahrain’s Ajyad Capital is doubling down on the future of Islamic finance. The Shariah-compliant investment firm, licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain since 2003, has announced a new strategic partnership with UK-based Ratings Intelligence, a leading provider of Shariah advisory and compliance solutions. The collaboration will integrate Ratings Intelligence’s compliance screening technology into Ajyad’s upcoming fully digital trading application designed for Gulf investors.
The move comes as Islamic finance sees explosive growth, with rising demand from GCC investors who want both global market access and investments that align with their faith.
“This partnership with Ratings Intelligence represents a significant milestone in our mission to democratize Shariah-compliant investing,” said Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Head of WealthTech at Ajyad Capital. “By integrating their cutting-edge screening technology, we are ensuring that our investors will have access to the most reliable and comprehensive Shariah screening solution in the market.”
Ajyad’s new app builds on its existing collaboration with Velexa, another UK-based WealthTech provider. Together, Ajyad, Ratings Intelligence, and Velexa are fusing fintech with Islamic finance to create what they call a seamless, Shariah-first, digital investing experience.
“Our role is to empower GCC investors with the same modern investing tools available elsewhere, while fully respecting Shariah values,” said Tamara Kostova, CEO and founder of Velexa. “With Ajyad and Ratings Intelligence, we’re opening access to local and global markets for millions of underserved investors.”
Ratings Intelligence will bring its proprietary compliance, monitoring, and purification technology into Ajyad’s ecosystem, delivering real-time Shariah-screened data and ensuring every portfolio remains aligned with Islamic principles.
“We are excited to partner with Ajyad Capital,” said Abdul Hadi Shaikh, Head of Research at Ratings Intelligence. “This collaboration signals a new era of transparent, tech-driven Islamic wealth management, helping investors navigate complexities with accessible, data-backed Shariah compliance.”
