Farhat Hashmi is a Pakistani Islamic scholar and preacher who is the founder and president of Al-Huda International, a chain of Islamic educational institutions.

Early Life and Education

Born in Sargodha, Punjab, on December 22, 1957, her father, Abdur Rehman Hashmi, was an Islamic scholar, and the local leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. She was educated at a local school; then studied at the Government College for women Sargodha and eventually earned a Master's degree in Arabic from the University of Punjab in Lahore. She holds a PhD in Hadith Sciences from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

Personal Life

In addition to her work as an Islamic scholar and educator, Hashmi is also a mother and grandmother. She has been married to her husband, Dr. Idrees Zubair, for over 40 years and the couple has raised four children together. Her daughters are Taimiyyah Zubair, Asma Zubair, and Maryam Zubair. Her son's name is Hisham Al Hadi.

Al-Huda International

After completing her degree, Hashmi began teaching at various Islamic educational institutions in Pakistan. In 1994, she founded Al-Huda International, an organization dedicated to providing Islamic education to women in Pakistan. The organization has since expanded to include schools, colleges, and universities in Pakistan and other countries, as well as a range of Islamic educational resources, including books, DVDs, and online courses.

Hashmi is known for her focus on the Qur'an and the Hadith, and for her emphasis on the importance of education and personal spiritual development for Muslim women. She has written and translated numerous books on Islamic subjects, and has delivered lectures and sermons in Pakistan and around the world.

Hashmi is an influential figure in the Muslim world and is widely respected for her efforts to promote Islamic education and empower Muslim women through education.
