The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) and Investment has confirmed that the third Imam Abu Hanifa Trade Expo will take place in Kabul on October 6, marking a significant event in the nation’s efforts to boost economic ties with regional and international partners.

The seven-day exhibition will feature more than 700 booths, with 400 dedicated to showcasing domestic products and 300 for international exhibitors. Delegates from Central and South Asia, China, Iran, Turkey, and Japan are expected to attend, signalling Kabul's growing importance as a hub for trade in the region.

"This exhibition provides an essential platform to support domestic production and enhance Afghanistan's trade and transit relations," said Shirin Agha Sakhi, president of the Afghan Craftsmen's Chamber. "We’re proud to highlight Afghan-made products from factories in Herat, Kandahar, Kabul, Jalalabad, and Mazar-e-Sharif, all of which meet the highest quality standards."

Among the key attractions is a Business-to-Business (B2B) conference that will run alongside the expo. Mir Zaman Popal, deputy director of finance and administration at the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, emphasized its importance in fostering new commercial relationships. “We will see participation from companies in Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, China, and several other countries, creating opportunities for future collaboration,” Popal said.

International firms, particularly from Iran, have shown strong interest in engaging with Afghanistan’s emerging market. Alireza Sadrzadeh, CEO of the Exhibition Project Management Company, highlighted the interest from Iranian companies looking to introduce advanced technology and industrial expertise. “We have been in discussions with the Chamber of Commerce, and many Iranian firms are eager to bring their innovations to Afghanistan,” Sadrzadeh said.

The expo will cover a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, mining, healthcare, banking, telecommunications, education, and handicrafts, reflecting Afghanistan’s diverse economic potential. Kabul is positioning itself as a crossroads for trade, and the event is seen as a critical opportunity for local and international exhibitors to forge partnerships that could drive economic growth.

The Imam Abu Hanifa Trade Expo has steadily grown in prominence since its inception, serving as a testament to Afghanistan’s efforts to expand its role in global trade despite ongoing challenges.
