Early Life and Education
Born on 16 July 1981 in Tripoli, Lebanon, Maher Zain's family immigrated to Sweden where he completed his schooling. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, he pursued his nasheed career in Sweden.
Career
Zain sings Nasheeds predominantly in English. Some of his most popular songs are also translated into French, Arabic, Turkish, Malay and Indonesian versions. His debut album ‘Thank You, Allah,’ reverberated particularly with Muslim youth.
The albums ‘Forgive Me’ and ‘One’ follows closely in popularity. The songs ‘Insha Allah,’ ‘Awaken,’ and ‘For the Rest of My Life’ are chart-toppers. Zain’s lyrics demonstrate how Islam is largely misunderstood by the world.
Through his music, Zain conveys a message of peace and harmony, which resonates with young Muslims. Zain has also collaborated with other musicians. The most popular collaboration was with Irfan Makki, a Pakistani music producer.

Zain is married to Aicha Ameziane since 2009. He has three children, Abdullah Maher Zain, Aya Maher Zain, and Yasmine Maher Zain.

Philanthropic Activities
One of the most philanthropic R&B musicians, Maher Zain performed to raise funds for the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. Not only did he work towards aid for Syria, he even requested his Facebook fans to donate funds to solve the water crisis in Africa.
