Taahirah Goes Mobile: Health-Tech Platform for Muslim Women Launches iOS App
Taahirah, the Muslim women’s health platform, has launched its mobile app, marking an expansion from its initial web debut in January. Founded by Farzana Salik, Taahirah blends faith-driven guidance with sophisticated health tracking, addressing a crucial gap for Muslim women navigating both personal health and religious obligations.
With its new iOS app (Android coming soon), Taahirah brings a suite of features to users. The app enables precise, madhhab-tailored cycle tracking, symptom logging with phase-based insights, and tools to plan prayers, ghusl, and make-up fasts. The integrated Knowledge Hub serves as a library, offering expert-backed content for every life stage.
The company’s journey started with its web launch earlier this year, rapidly attracting a global audience of Muslim women seeking holistic, faith-aligned health support online. Founder Farzana Salik, a graduate of the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, channelled her personal and professional experience into building Taahirah. After battling her own health challenges, Salik saw the lack of centralised resources for Muslim women as a call to action, she said in an earlier interview.
In her words, “Taahirah was born out of our own struggles—where technology often overlooks the intersection of health, faith, and womanhood. We’re building not just an app, but a safe, supportive sisterhood that empowers Muslim women on every step of their journey.”
As for what’s next, Taahirah plans broader rollouts, including an Android app and expanded community features. The venture has already gained grassroots traction via early access programs and fundraising among its core audience. Taahirah’s ambition, according to Salik, is to become “the world’s leading Muslim women’s health platform,” a vision now one step closer with the leap to mobile.
